Alaskan Practitioner Cruise
Jul 01, 2026I recently took a much needed and long-awaited vacation to Alaska! I really hadn’t taken a real vacation in about 8 years due to a lot of life circumstances and challenges. Yes, I travel for cattlewomen and some work events, but those are always involving work, meetings, trainings, serving, etc. It felt really amazing to just unplug and not work or study. I didn’t even take my laptop with me and I had several days with no cell service, and hence no emails or texts.
This was my first cruise, and it was an experience! I didn’t experience traditional sea sickness, but I felt very “off-kilter” the whole time as the ocean was very rough many days. It took me about 2 weeks after the cruise to feel stable on dry land again! Have you ever cruised before? Where did you travel to? Do you love to cruise or is it not for you?
We visited the towns of Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Victoria (Canada), and Seattle. This was my 3rd trip to Alaska and it was nice to see 3 new towns. We had a few rainy days and some partial sunny days. If you haven’t been to Alaska, you should definitely put it on your bucket list!
One of the blessings of the cruise was that it was a Discover Healing Practitioner Workshop. As you know, I am a certified Emotion/Body/Belief Code Practitioner and this workshop gave us direct teaching and coaching with Dr. Bradley Nelson, the founder of Discover Healing. He is such a gift from God, with a mission of equipping people to help heal themselves and others. It was great to meet other practitioners and exchange ideas and techniques. I am very grateful I was able to attend.
We all need to take regular breaks, time off, vacations and holidays to help us refresh and recharge on every level. No one can work 24/7 for years, or even carry a weekly heavy workload without there being some consequences that will eventually affect their entire life. Growing up in rural & agricultural America, rest is not really valued and often people are teased about being “lazy” if they even sit down to eat or do work on the computer. As an adult, I’m still getting better at practicing rest and rejuvenation on a more consistent basis!
I hope this summer you too can find the rest that works best for you to refill your cup! Take the moments to be present, to put your phone away for a few hours, and to enjoy your loved ones and have some fun! Take the day off, take the vacation, and make the memories!
