Intentionally Designing Your Life

karen smith purpose winning Oct 01, 2026

We are 10 months in 2026; how are you feeling about your year? Has it been good? Or has it been way more challenging than you anticipated? For most people, it probably has had both happy times AND hard times.

If you set some goals, resolutions or “word of the year” at the beginning of 2026, how are you doing on those goals? You probably have completed a few of them, are stuck on a couple more, or may have abandoned the ship months ago on others. There are 3 months left in 2026; are you ready to see what you can complete on the intentional goals that still excite you?

We must intentionally design our life every day. We must live with and on purpose! Are you doing that? This question isn’t meant to put undo pressure on you but to speak to that latent spirit and desire within you that has been reminding you that you can step up and re-engage in things.

Some seasons are challenging in unusual ways. For example, the hot weather of summer drains me of every motivation I normally have. Starting in mid - July and going until early September, we can have 90-100 degree heat daily where I live. Thankfully we don’t have much humidity! On every level I lose motivation- it’s hard to be creative, to write or study, to build a business, to be physically active, to even want to engage in doing anything on any level because my energy just tanks with the heat. I have to be very intentional during those 2 months to adjust my schedule to be able to be productive since I still have bills to pay, a business to run, and my wonderful clients to serve. I have to use the longer daylight hours and work in the cooler part of the morning. My executive assistant, Skyra, helps me focus with a priorities list, and I’ve learned to schedule most of my clients and meetings in the mornings. The afternoons are simply too hot so I’ve stopped trying to force myself to work as hard during those times. Hopefully someday I’ll be able to go someplace where it is cooler during those two months, such as back up to the mountains.

Sometimes we are able to leave a tough situation physically and sometimes we cannot. When you look at your goals and the remainder of the year, what can you do today to start making real progress on them to finish out 2026? There is still time to build fitness and health, to deepen your spiritual life, to have more fun, to make progress on writing that book, or hitting your revenue or project goals. We have a little over 100 days left in the year- why not start increasing by 1% daily in an area that matters to you?

Break it down into small chunks. For example, if you want to read more books in the next 100 days, read a few pages throughout the day instead of scrolling useless crap on social media. If you want to build physical strength, do 10 squats at the top of every hour. If you want to eat better, make enough supper each night so you can also have healthy leftovers for lunch the next day. If you want to have more money, what can you do to make/create another $100 a week? What unused subscription can you cancel?

Your life and purpose are worth pursuing and investing in! We need each person to live out their God given callings!

Sometimes we have energetic blocks that keep us from being motivated to change our lives. If you feel like that may be the case for you, why not book a session with me to work on identifying and clearing those? You will be so glad you did!

May grace and peace be upon your path always!

Karen
